The ump at my daughter’s softball game took a pretty hard foul ball off his mask. He said “don’t worry, I’ll live!” Then he turned to the crowd and said “I’ve been doing this for 50 years and I’ve never seen a ball hit my mask yet! You know why? Because I close my eyes!” God bless umps!

Sometimes Jason Benetti throws these gems out so casually that I worry not enough people are catching them lol. He just called a Kerry Carpenter long ball on an off-speed pitch, one he had to wait on for a while, the ‘Alice’s Restaurant’ of home runs. You gotta wait for it. It’ll come around 😂

Found a bunch of random ‘84 Tiger cards while cleaning the attic. If you’re a baseball fan, the odds of remembering every player on your favorite team when you were 10 years old are pretty high!

Was just thinking about my JV baseball coach back in the early 90s, Lou Pironella, who we all affectionately called ‘Screwy Louie’ and who loved trick plays. As a first baseman, my favorite was a wild fake pickoff where the pitcher would fake to first and I’d take off running after the pretend throw

I’m sure there’s probably more to it than this, but it looked like the Notre Dame defender was jumping up and down to show that he was 100% sure who was getting the ball for Ohio State on that TD, and then when the play started he ran far away from that guy 😂
