My favorite and least-favorite Keith Urban singles. (Hat tip to @countryuniverse.net for reminding me of "Straight Line".)

I don’t know what’s weirder: that almost every Patty Loveless song in the 90s peaked way lower in Canada, or that “The Night’s Too Long” (my personal favorite) was one of the outliers in the other direction.

Anyone remember Chuck Wagon and the Wheels? A wrestling themed country comedy act. Members were credited as Chuck Wagon, Sid Sequin, and Carl "Cal" Pyle. In true wrestling fashion, what little press I found kept up the kayfabe. I remember the video for "Beauty's in the Eye of the Beerholder" on CMT.

I've seen this before! It's very interesting to compare to the three actual maps I've found so far (1966, 1971, 1973)

@countryuniverse.bsky.social might find this interesting. Every musician I found since 1990 who's made Billboard Country Songs/Airplay but does not have a Wikipedia article (not counting one-shot collabs like Forever Country)

Since I first made this list, I've been able to cross five names off it

Hopefully Bsky doesn’t compress this too much. My favorite and least favorite country singles from 1970 to the present. I look forward to @countryuniverse.bsky.social’s observations here

Worst take I’ve seen on Patty since that horribly off base review of “Classics” I found in the Reno Gazette…

@countryuniverse.bsky.social want to see a hilariously wrongheaded review of Del Rio, TX 1959 from Entertainment Weekly?
