Sometimes I spend my time on Google maps looking at places that look like they once had life but by virtue of being a crossroads have been sapped of it and rendered dismally liminal by a failure to imagine doing anything better.

And I wonder, how do we fix them?

Years ago I burned out fighting the impossible fight in the face of an uncaring, ossifying government. Now the plaque is breaking up and suddenly there's everything to play for, @zackpolanski.bsky.social has brought hope back for real and substantive change and it's time to pitch in!
