Pete Docter once told a story about Pixar pitching the Listerine account. They did their presentation and said "here's how much we love your product!" and one of them pulled out a bottle of Listerine they'd filled with apple juice & took a big drink.

I remember watching GLOW back in the day. A wrestler got pinned under someone and her tag-team partner ran in and yelled "FART ON HER!" which, at the time, was the funniest thing I'd ever seen on tv.

The penny (and nickel) have gone away in other countries with absolutely no problem. It's not surprising that when we finally got rid of it, they did it in the most chaotic way possible instead of winding it down gradually like Canada, Australia, etc
