Erien, similarly, uses DRK as the basis of her unique job and slipped into darkness after Haurchefant’s passing but is not the one that did the DRK quests - she went on her own journey of recovery and acceptance that instead blends with the RDM questline.

While I haven’t done anything with him yet, I’ve also written Aulus escaping Ala Mhigo and surviving past the end of Stormblood to possibly return as an antagonist again later.

is impressed at the determination she shows while so young.

When Fourchenalt disowned the twins, after consoling them Q’linn followed him to the airship landing and punched him in the face. In Ultima Thule, he broke down crying.

He will always defend those kids as if they were his own children.

Never too late to start! Which job did you get the HW relic for, to use as a starting point?

It fits them quite well! I hc them as very bold and fiery, able to “possess” most of Q’linn’s weapons and machines once he integrates shards of the anima’s soulstone. They enjoy the variety and have a few favourite bodies - usually whatever can cause the most destruction, like the Automaton Queen.

Previously I ran with the idea that Margrat was an old ex of Erien's from the Studium, whose workaholic nature led to them breaking up but staying amicable. But her final scene about appreciating the WoL's efforts felt so much like an apology via grand gesture in that context that I had to pivot.
