My story is the typical story of people on welfare--it's the rule, not the exception. Before you share uninformed thoughts about the "lazy" people whose benefits are being interrupted right now, do a little reading and exercise a little empathy. You're closer to being one of them than you think.

The second time I was on welfare I was trying to raise two kids alone while working two jobs. Even exhausting myself for 70+ hours per week, I was still comfortably below the poverty line. Again, benefits saved us.

I know, right!? I didn't think I'd ever get to see them live, then I saw them on the lineup!
