Tonight’s offering is Pairs Well With, a 2022 CA merlot. This is incredibly smooth, with a medium body, aromas of baked bread and floral notes, with flavors of chocolate, grilled meat, and tart cherry. This paired so well with pepper beef stir fry…

t’s been a minute.

Dinner tonight was roast top sirloin cap, Mexican street corn salad, and Mac and cheese. To accompany it, we had Lost Isle, a 2022 CA Cabernet Sauvignon with a medium body, aromas of baking spices and roses, flavors of chocolate, black pepper, & blackberry.

Tonight’s offering is Giocosita, a 2023 Rosé from Rubicone IGP, Italy. Pale pink color, floral aromas of honesuckle, flavors of citrus and lychee, and a crisp finish with bright acidity. This is an excellent wine for a hot summer evening.

Petticoat, a 2021 CA Moscato, aromas of melon and hints of roses, flavors of green apple and honey, and lush, soft finish. This should be served well chilled, and it pairs marvelously with spicy food (in my case, chickpea curry with a yogurt and okra relish).

International Press, 2021 Vinho Tinto from Portugal. Herbal aromas with notes of sage and thyme, tart flavors of black currant, and a medium finish with some chewy tannins.

Something I haven’t had before tonight… a Ribolla Gialla from Fruili.. Castello Specchio, with a light, floral aroma,tart flavors of lime zest and lychees, and a crisp finish with bright acidity. Chill it well, and enjoy on a hot summer evening…
