First time doing this on Blue Sky…

GFF, a 2023 Petite Syrah, with a color of deep, almost opaque plum, aromas of baked bread and leather, flavors of tart cherry, thyme, and black pepper. This one has chewy tannins, and would pair well with a hearty dish. Good for a cold night.

Something a little different. The Hibiki Japanese Harmony. Probably one of my favorite Japanese Whiskys. It’s ver floral with hints of orange peel and a slight peaty smoke that I don’t mind.

Young and fresh, well balanced and easy drinking. After a while in the glass, the signature ”South African aromas” appeared that I usually describe as a meaty earth aroma that I sometimes find in wines from there.

Tonight’s offering is Alazules, a Spanish 2020 red blend. A rich eggplant color, aromas of smoke and leather, with a surprising fruit forward jammy flavor of black cherry and red apple. Medium tannins and a lingering tartness makes this a pleasant, daily red.
