Can't wait for hockey season
Freebie had an eventful weekend:
He secretly got out the lauder room door on Friday and spent the night in the garage.

Then today, we put him in a harness and let him explore the deck; after about 30 min, he got spooked and literally leapt out of the harness (too loose) and almost off the deck.

After five months, we've finally settled on a name that the whole family likes.

Meet Freebie.

I've learned two things today.

1. There are people who think ketchup on a hot dog is wrong.

2. There's a National Hot Dog and Sausage Council.

I think I used the wrong photo of the Copa. It relocated a few times. Here's the building as the Metropolis.

And then how it looks now.

No imagination.

Things I saw at the antique store this month that I didn't buy.

(Part 2)

I wish I could post more than 4 photos. I see but don't buy a lot of things at antique stores.

The unusual Japanese-inspired grave of William Smith Humphreys and Henrietta Somerville Wright.

Other than the names, the only markings are Japanese characters - possibly Tategaki.

W.S. Humphreys was a successful linseed oil manufacturer in Fort Wayne but let me tell you about their daughter.

I had a lot of trouble finding this one in my old photos because, wow, the transformation over the last 15 years! Mine isn't a great photo to begin with, but even from the little bit that is visible, you can tell the state it was in back then.

So your post inspired me to go look through my old photos from grad school. My thesis was a Carriage Town survey, and I loved that neighborhood. Here is my old photo of this house from 2008. And another one of my favorite houses nearby.

My daughter's school is having a "Nutcracker Museum" this year. This is the only nutcracker I own. She insisted on taking him.

I tried to make him a little more festive.
