Couldn't sleep, channeled that into wishing @enbyeon.moe a belated happy birthday.

If you reference fighting game sprites you end up drawing cool stuff

Jolteon goes fast.

@kobuddy.bsky.social is getting ready to...okay I don't know much about universus mechanically but it's probably powerful.

@inklingss.bsky.social draws kobolds so well. I got a sketchbook today and some markers and so I'm trying to get comfy with markers, so I referenced one of her super cute pieces featuring Faessi. The original piece is excellent and you should check it out here: www.furaffinity.net/view/40727032/

All about da Mets bay bee.

No pressure but you're always welcome to use another kobold!

Although for me personally it's about 80% hooting and hollering and about 20% fighting games.

26. Missed a like, but Paper's Please is a good combination of mechanics and narrative.

24. Opus Magnum my favorite of the Zachtronics problem solving games, but they're all fantastic and worthwhile.

And on the other side of the breadsticks...

23. Slice & Dice is a really cool quick roguelike that is great for killing ten minutes or two hours.

22. Mini Metro is just straight up one of the best mobile games ever. That's it that's the tweet.

21. Mass Effect 2 has better gunplay but I really like the tone and pace of Mass Effect 1. Also I'm a freak who kind of enjoyed the Mako.

20. Cavern of Dreams is one of the best love letters to 3d platforming, in that it manages to be both cute and fun and easy enough to be accessible to kiddos. This could be someone's first 3d platformer.

19. Morrowind is janky and hostile and hard to get into, but if you give it an earnest chance it's really easy to be swept up in an incredible sense of place. But again, easier said than done.

18. Titanfall 2 is the coolest shooter campaign and sick multiplayer, and also feels like it was sent out to die. You owe it yourself to pick it up and play the campaign.

16 (numbering now to keep track) Wildermyth does a lot of things that really sell the idea of a saga rather than just one story. Your characters slowly become folk heroes until it's not clear where fact ends and legends begin. Worth a look!

I will never adequately explain phantom dust. But this weird ass card battler is one of the coolest things someone has convinced me to play. Love it in spite of (or perhaps because of) several very rough edges.
October 24, 2024 at 7:05 AM
Pocket card jockey would ruin my life if I let it. The game play loop is alarmingly compelling. The only game on this list I love but will probably never ever play again. Ever. Lest I lose myself.

I know. I know. This game has some deep rooted problems. At the same time, you can build and drive a car that scales vertical surfaces. That shit rules.

Thief 2 was a surprise, and dishonored 2 might be the best of the genre. A worthy successor to thief and a triumph of level design.
October 24, 2024 at 6:33 AM
Thief and Thief 2 were something we tried on a lark for a stream, and despite a few shaky levels feels shockingly modern in a lot of ways.
