Guns are the leading cause of death for young people in America — this is a five alarm fire and our leaders in Washington have ignored it for too long. Americans are tired of waiting around for Congress to decide that protecting kids matters.

Alone with our madness and favorite flower
We see that there really is nothing left to write about.
Or rather, it is necessary to write about the same old things
In the same way, repeating the same things over and over
For love to continue and be gradually different.

Remember: The oligarchs who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us so they can become more powerful.

They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see where all the wealth and power have gone.

Don't fall for it.

Extending the health care tax credits for one year costs about the same as Trump’s bailout of Argentina.

Trump and Congressional Republicans must come to the table and negotiate—before tens of millions of Americans see their health care premiums double.

If someone can be kicked out of their official residence and stripped of their titles because of their ties to Jeffrey Epstein, why can't it be Donald Trump?

So I heard about this sign at a No Kings march from a priest at a progressive Catholic Church in Minneapolis, and I wish I'd seen it in person.
"If You Think Pope LEO Is Woke, Wait Until You Meet His Boss."

Me getting my copy of Terrance Hayes' latest poetry collection signed after his reading in Minneapolis. He's definitely one of the most inspiring and entertaining contemporary poets I've had the pleasure of hearing read.

Well, it's a late celebration. I'm always shopping in the "belated" section of birthday cards.

In his eulogy, Gov. Tim Walz remembered Mark and Melissa Hortman for their “leadership, strength and kindness.”

“I know that millions of Minnesotans get to live better lives because she and Mark chose public service and politics,” he said. bit.ly/4luKmd8

Here's what the BBB will do to Americans:
"Holy cow. MSNBC just broke down Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” and it’s not good “If you're in the top 20%, you get a 3.7% increase in after-tax income. If you're in the bottom, you lose $800. You get a large cut in Medicaid & other benefits.” Yikes."

Trump and company say President Biden’s pardons should be nullified because he used an auto-pen to sign them. This from a president who claimed he could declassify documents “just by thinking about it.”

Saw this headline on the SNL 50-year special and I couldn't help laughing out loud (okay, you have to date back to 1976 to get it, but here it is):

Yes, this is what DOGE wants to cut. Not wasteful military spending, but medical research, health and nutrition assistance, etc. And the contracts that benefit the business empire's of Musk and other billionaire FOTs (friends of Trump) are, of course, off the table as well.
The University of Minnesota leads the way in medical research: 700 NIH-funded projects, including advancing organ transplants, cancer treatments, and Parkinson’s therapies are now at risk. Cutting NIH funding threatens life-saving research and the future of medical innovation.
