Man I'm getting pretty tired of all these CGI fungal/sand/floral/barf tv intros that are entirely deficient in narrative protein

It was cool when Daredevil did the original goop version a decade ago, but now every other show is doing it.

Please stop sending goop to my television, I beg of you

Funnest of facts: The 'The Elder Scrolls Chapter One: The Arena' video game has a bunch of temples dedicated to mega obscure deities and subjects of Tamriel.

And @jeffperryman.bsky.social did up a bunch of neat wall art and iconography for all the various temple types across the world's biomes.

Hot take of the day:

So there's a school of thinking that you should avoid overly detailing lore or answering certain lore questions unless you *have* to, so you don't write yourself into a corner or have to retcon things if you want to go into a different direction later...

Begin rant: Something I've become quite fond of in long-form fiction is characters that come from actual families and have family trees. That's easily my favorite setting feature of A Song of Ice & Fire

Witness below the incredible McCallister family tree lore from the small indie film Home Alone!

Something that has been lost over the years is the original "solar system" Julian LeFay created for the planet of The Elder Scrolls: Arena. It features a number of coloured blue and red stars, as well as a bunch of planets that have yet to re-appear in the series

Arena's sky features a full orbital pattern for the solar system this planet is on, comprising two moons, other planets, and many many stars. It was implemented in such a way that one could feasib...

No clue if "Chief of War" will be a prestigious show or not, but I adore to bits that the characters are speaking in Hawaiian. It's never an easy thing to persuade corpos to not have characters speaking in pure English since they always want the end product to appeal to the widest possible audience.

As someone who has spent a not small amount of time digging into Julian's works and legacy, this news is painful.

I met Julian in person last month and phoned with him couple times before that. He was generous, honorable, and nothing short of a craftsman.

My best wishes to his family and friends.

Julian LeFay, the Father of The Elder Scrolls, is entering the final days of his life from his battle with cancer. His team at OnceLost Games is asking for people to celebrate his life and offer well wishes to his family in their comments, and we encourage you all to do so.

Watched 'The Woman King' tonight and really had a ball with it.

I went to baby military school just for a little bit before becoming an adult, and it was darn neat seeing what basic training and wartime conditioning would be like for a historical culture.

Besides all the really important work that the IA does for politics, health, history, and culture in general, the study of Elder Scrolls lore would suffer an irreparable damage if the Wayback Machine were to disappear. Old threads, websites, and manuals are all hosted there.

Pitch in, if you can!
📢 The Internet Archive needs your help.

At a time when information is being rewritten or erased online, a $700 million lawsuit from major record labels threatens to destroy the Wayback Machine.

Tell the labels to drop the 78s lawsuit.

Tamriel: The Loveletter to Glorantha
This is an article I have been meaning to write for a while now and it is finally finished! I talk about how the world of Glorantha heavily inspired some key aspects of The Elder Scrolls from the Redguard-Morrowind period and forward. drnightst.one#es-44
