Recently retired IT security architect. Enjoying the longest of all weekends.
I like cars, technology, home automation, investment management, food.
Always remember, when an opposition politician says that their plan is fully costed, it only means they have made a series of guesses at what the costs might be.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Trump in a nutshell…

A weak man's idea of strength.

A poor man's idea of rich.

A dumb man's idea of smart.

If foot and mouth disease can be spread by cheese imports…. I’m kinda feeling a little ick about cheese.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social this might give the term “being given a producer” a whole new angle!

I very much suspect Trump is done. His aura has popped. His reputation for good business is gone. Business confidence in him is fading to zero. Fast.

Now it just needs the republicans to find a way to back him out without destroying the global markets.

The current whitehouse cabinet meeting. If this was a pitch to any company in the world they’d not get the contract. Not a chance.

And why is the meeting a massive sales pitch? Trump is scared isn’t he. He’s losing it fast. The bond market sees blood in the water.

The US is the largest market for champagne in the world. A stonking 27 million bottles annually. However….

The UK is 2nd at 22.3 million bottles!

Bloody good show the UK. I salute you. I mean us.

The one possible silver lining to the orange man-toddler’s economic catastrophe is that it may make some maga cult members come to their senses?

Badenoch is deeply disingenuous in saying Labour should pick up some ‘nearly finished’ US trade deal and get Cheeto-in-chief to sign it. She must know that’s a hiding to nothing. She’s plainly playing political games at an incredibly serious moment.

Media pundits MUST be much clearer in describing how Trump’s tariffs don’t even serve his own stated goals!

I hope retailers selling imported goods in the US add a 10% or more line item: “federal US tax” $nnn.nn

It is time for Trump’s lettuce.

People who complain about a detailed judicial process that took place in the open really must be called upon to detail specific issues raised during the trail. Or else be ignored.

Trump’s team - using the cover of being unorthodox to hide simple incompetence.

I think we all should never use the name Trump without inserting the word “irredeemable” in front.

Henceforth he is “Irredeemable Trump”.

“Trump the Irredeemable” is also acceptable.

Welby’s comments during interview only confirm that religious groups aren’t able to properly address child abuse by in-group offenders. I believe it is structural.

JD Vance and wife going to Greenland. It would be a shame if Greenland had a law allowing immediate deportation of individuals that represent a threat to sovereignty.

Who the hell is clapping at the end of Trump’s ego stoking press conferences?

I’ve a feeling that the excellent Atlantic magazine will see a bump in their subscription numbers.

The US is going to realise soon that far from being a strong leader, Trump is actually the weakest they’ve ever had.

The deal mentions LPG terminals. It’s clearly pretty detailed.

I wonder who came up with the deal?It clearly wasn’t the clown show in the Whitehouse.

When you corner a group of scammers and grifters they have only one course of action. Rapid and overwhelming violence, bullying, accusations and shouting.

We saw three out of four in the Oval Office today. Because Trump and Vance are grifters in the grift.

What’s the betting Trump will simply sell his 50% of Ukrainian minerals to Russia - which is very close thereby favours transportation. Then Russia would itself have a stake in the minerals and would not attack.

US skims its 10% and wouldn’t have to so much at all!
