Boomer, class of ‘47. But in a good way.
I’ve returned after a long absence. I was among the first few thousand in the beta and it was fun. When it reached 10K, not so much as X-types started showing up. I’m back to see if social norms have curbed the spread.

Our Airedale recovered. It only cost $3,000 (in 1994), but she was worth it.

If I want to criticize, I have to go to Mastadon? Really, dude. You’re being ironic, right? Have you no facility of self-reflection?

Bye, bye, Miss American Pie

The barbarians at the gate have arrived with the latest wave. Today’s examples

1. Someone who purports to be pharma boy

2. Shameless commerce by newsreader offering a discount on latest book

3. Shade from fan of newsreader: go to Mastodon if you don’t like it.

Alternatively, I could go back to Twitter where there are no social norms. You know, like telling people to get out of Dodge because you don’t like what they have to say? It’s all a matter of who you want to direct censor at. The vibe here was chill until the latest wave of invites. sad, but heck.

Bad form, Jake. The Sky is still like the early internet, which didn’t register domains for commercial use. Hopefully, someone will figure out an advertiser opt-in feature. Can understand why you don’t want to pay the MuskOx for an as, but not here, please.

I’m unsure who besides the material scientist/electrical engineer types cares enough to get passionate about Two-Parameter Omega Technique

Falling out of love is a funny thing. Everything is good, until, suddenly, it isn't. But it's not only romance. Tastes shift out from under the feet across the boards. I just threw over an IDE after 15 years of being mostly ok. Robert Hunter and Blaise Pascal nailed it.

Two months in my proportion of recognized cultural references is asymptomatically approaching zero. I can’t tell if something is a fresh meme or an invocation of the Wayback Machine. My way of life had fallen in the sere. Woe.

Gordon Lightfoot died yesterday, closing out another musical catalog. Whether it was being stuck on the grass where the cold wind blows, or standing on the highway with a sign that just said ‘mother’ he comes down now on the summer side of life.

They should hold the Met Gala on October 31 so that the paparazzi could follow the glitterati as they go to the after party trick or treating along the way

… it’s a case of men fleeing workplaces in which they don’t belong to the majority. So, why?

I believe it’s because men don’t want to compete with women because, a priority, they can expect to lose half the time.
