Just like with the effects of constant changes to tariffs on global markets, the DOJ’s new policy to lay off on #crypto enforcement is likely just to ensure the #DOJ is looking away as #DJT continues to use his family meme coins, #WLF, and other schemes to accept bribes and manipulate crypto markets

#DJT ‘s #tariff delay today is yet more evidence that the market manipulator-in-chief making most of his moves in the interest of self dealing and insider favors.

I don’t recall #AbrahamLincoln saying it was a government of Elon Musk, by Elon Musk, and for Elon Musk.

Does anyone actually think it is a good thing that First Lady #elonmusk has the ability to monitor and stop federal payments at the Treasury and access the PII of most people in the nation? Does nobody else see how dangerous this is?

Just taking an educated guess here, but Congress seems highly unlikely to pass legislation to establish a #strategicreserve for #crypto of any kind any time soon.

The thing to understand about Trump is like in his first term, he doesn’t want to govern. He doesn’t want to learn. He wants to campaign and look good.

Republicans know this. So there are battles going on right now to take control of the actual process of governing.

There are a lot of rumors floating around that a national #crypto reserve would include #XRP. I have two thoughts:

Today's #crypto EO is largely a symbolic gesture. What's interesting is it doesn't even touch on systemic risk (except re CBDCs) and at the same time rescinds Biden's digital assets EO, which primarily focused on systemic risk. I wonder if it will reflect in the work of the agencies? bit.ly/3WxyzAO

Considering the events around the #Trump family’s own #crypto ventures, the incoming #SEC chair Paul Atkins might have to tread lightly in how the agency approaches the regulatory guidance that digital assets industries have been asking for and anticipating under the new regime.

I love this so much!

At the inauguration, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wore a distinctive collar adorned with cowrie shells, which are believed to offer protection from evil in African traditions.

This choice mirrors the late Justice Ginsburg’s practice of using collars to convey a message.

I think this just goes to show where we probably need to be headed as a society.

As we grow more interconnected and lies and disinformation become ever more present, I think experts in all fields are likely going to have to start playing a bigger role in public education and advocacy.
New poll: Most people think scientists should advocate on public policy. #scicomm
📢 Desire for public #engagement of scientists: 83% think that scientists should #communicate about science with the public, only 23% believe that they should not actively #advocate for specific policies.

The federal government is going to be running so efficiently under the Donald.

First step: Institute a bunch of illegal or unconstitutional official actions to ensure we’re throwing a bunch of public money and resources at legal battles that shouldn’t need to be fought.

Oh wait …

#J6pardons: so we’re now just officially confirming laws aren’t a thing any more? Cool, cool, cool, cool.

Likely conversation (speculation).

Putin (to Trump):

“We’re thinking about (aggressively) purchasing $10b of TrumpCoin this week.

Also, please cease arm shipments to Ukraine.”

Congress has been for sale a while. Now the world is for sale.

to me the key question is whether the six conservatives on SCOTUS want to cede their power to interpret the constitution to Trump. that’s it!
unfortunately for the administration you cannot assert that a new and novel interpretation of the constitution is law with an executive order AND other constitutional officers have a say here too.
Breaking news: The U.S. government will no longer recognize the citizenship of children born in the United States to immigrants who lack legal status, one of 10 immigration-related executive orders President-elect Donald Trump plans to sign Monday, an incoming administration official told reporters.

#trump: the “great peacemaker and unifier,” and of course how could that be possible without threatening violence and sowing division?

#trump “saving” #tiktock = political stunt. It’s absolutely crazy how transparent this all is, and yet I know so many people are just going to eat this up.

I know #trump is being hailed by many in the #crypto world, but people need to recall the man’s first term, when he worked to reverse #netneutrality, threaten the #freepress, and undermine the #ruleoflaw. He poses a clear existential threat to decentralized systems and a free and open internet.

Today’s #scotus opinion upholding Congress's TikTok ban ultimately could have far-reaching implications that threaten the free and open #internet, not just here in the #usa but globally!
