I've had two IUDs and I was lucky that it wasn't the worst pain I've been in but both times the doctors (who were women!) told me it was just a pinch and wasn't bad at all, the second I said didn't ask and just took some of my heavier pain meds I have for my knee.

Raising food animals and/or gardening in your backyard in no way guarantees that the end product will be safe to eat. There disease, there's parasites, there's lead and other hazardous products in your soil in urban areas... It takes lots resources and time as a hobby, and more for survival.
