Our 8th graders have been researching environmental sustainability in Science. One project was to create a fictional sustainable village based on a real life biome. Which biomes would provide a sustaining environment for humans to thrive? Where would people get clean water? Grow crops?

For their final project, my students created their own fantasy maps to demonstrate their knowledge of topography, and representing key data. They needed to include a trade route, natural resources, and ways that their society would thrive independently. Some chose to paint, others chose tech
