We changed some of our summer plans to no longer visit the USA. Zero regrets from Lake Superior Provincial Park.
Voting done ✅. We were 45 minutes from arrival to departure. Not much is asked of us as return for living in a great country: pay your taxes, vote, and be a good neighbour.

If it’s not safe for school busses to be on the road, how is it safe enough for your school staff to be on the road before the sun comes up? 🚍 cancellations should be an automatic school closure. Agree?

As secondary teachers are now into week 2 with classes, what’s your favourite strategy for ongoing community building? In week 2, I’m now checking that students know each other’s names and performing introductions to nearby seat mates as needed. Names begin authentic relationships. #onted

I love talking with teachers from other parts of the province. It’s a good reminder: 1. There is no greener grass elsewhere 2. Kids are kids everywhere and 3. It takes all of us to change the direction that education has been heading. Frontline education workers aren’t pretending it’s ugly. It is.

I love when I pose a critical thinking question to a class and there is a pause and then noise as little groups all start sharing their ideas. It’s important to challenge our students with ideas that are accessible but require them to use reasoned judgement. #GoodDay #teaching
