This is one of my favorite books!! I first read it back in 2011, and it was life changing for me. The movie is also an amazing adaptation!!

I'm not arguing against its existence, I'm just repeating what my Christian theology teacher taught us at my religious college: its a cultural text like you said, but the stories in it are folklore, we struggle to antropoligically prove that these stories really happened.
