Cozy and curious herbalist creating and living for wholesome remedies and creature comforts.
@tmigratorius.bsky.social can you identify this as a species of goldenrod/ Solidago? I couldn’t find it in any of my field guides. I (unfortunately) live in the southeast. The leaves are pretty chewed up, but it seems that they’re simple alternate.

8 years since I happened upon a species of hypericum. Today, several sightings of Hypericum tetrapetalum. In my magical and hereditary healing tradition, Hypericum is known as scacciadiavoli (in other areas of Italy Artemisia Vulgaris has the same folk name). It banishes + protects. Good omen.

Winged Sumac | Rhus copallina. A member of the cashew family, this shrub is medicinal, grows quite large, &its leaves produce a lemonade tasting “tea”. *if you can’t differentiate between poison sumac, other sumacs, do not touch. Take a photo +bring it into your extension office. Photo by me.

“I don't want to feel as if my life were a sojourn any longer. That philosophy cannot be true which so paints it. It is time now that I begin to live.”—Journal, 25 December 1841 Henry David Thoreau
