Palestine Red Crescent’s ambulance service has been significantly impacted as fuel supplies are drying up. Of 53 emergency vehicles that were operating before the border closures, 23 remain.

With any epidemic response, volunteers are the backbone of our Red Cross Red Crescent response. The Uganda Red Cross trained and deployed 320 local volunteers—trusted community members.

The closure of all border crossings for the transportation of aid into Gaza Strip represents a severe risk to the millions of people who have been struggling to survive for 16 months.

Aid trickling into Gaza is less than a drop in the ocean. Lack of safe and unhindered humanitarian access is leading to horrific outcomes.

Widespread starvation is inevitable unless humanitarian access and the flow of supplies is dramatically improved.
