My Sunday morning, a very good boy let me sleep in and I saw a cardinal from my (dirty) kitchen window.

A timeliness cleanse. I think the snow earlier this year shocked the fig tree and I was worried we wouldn't get any fruit this year. Normally it is popping off by now, but dad spotted two ripe beauties today. Life found a way.

Happy Dad's Day. Mine is pretty great.

He pulled this blanket off a shelf and made himself cozy, all while my dad is asking "what do you think you're doing?" No gods, no masters.

Can my Boomer complaint be the lack of elevator etiquette? A guy in my building crowded the door before it opened, people needed to get off, & then he didn't hold the door for the other 3 of us to get on. He got a kick out of the elevator door hitting me 🫠 It was my Don Draper experience of the day.

No gray skies when the gardenias are in bloom.

It's impossible to pick four favorites from this weekend, but let's go with these, two from each day. Mexican Institute of Sound, Pearl Jam, Lenny Kravitz, and WILDCATS post fest. I'm so tired, but gosh, this was fun.

Every part of my body hurts from Festing today, but when I left, traffic thinned out the closer I got to the lake, so I just took the long way home. Hope you've enjoyed your weekend so far.

I started a new series in pottery but decided to start over. I'm using the pieces I already made to test glaze swatches for the new pieces, and now I have a bowl with my notes in my handwriting. I just think it's neat (and kinda sweet).

A guy bought several beers and told the man pulling the beer wagon to give away the extras. I am a recipient. Miracles on miracles today.

More Jazz Fest miracles.
April 25, 2025 at 8:03 PM
Having worked Jazz Fest the last few years and getting in early from a separate entrance, I forgot what it's like to dodge caterpillars on Esplanade and folks hustling tickets and wares, or looking for signatures for something. I was spoiled. Here's a hibiscus from my porch.

This is all that's left of the cake. "Do you hear them, Clarice? Have the lambs stopped screaming?"
