redists are code libraries shared with many apps and are themselves built using the SDK. if redists start using newer SDKs, apps using them are affected, too. e.g., Qt 6 currently requires 10 1809+, and who knows if a future "Qt 7" might require 11 22H2+ or something... you may also be right though!

I thought about that, which is why I figure browsers will see support until extended end. however, without making kernel patches to 10, I think a lot of software will just inherently stop working as they develop using newer SDK features. love it or hate it, 11 does add new features under the hood.

I agree that 11 is pretty much just a big fancy update of 10, but... Windows 10 is 10.0.19045, while 11 is currently up to 10.0.26200. If you installed the original 2015 version of 10 right now, there are apps that don't support it anymore, and thats how 10 22H2 may end up compared to 11 later on...

the most major issue with that will probably be software support. I could see web browsers continuing support at least until the true 2032 end, but more apps may start to require the newer OS sooner than you think. (meanwhile 7-zip supports Windows 2000 still, lol)

I'm happy I started using a Linux install at the beginning of this month (Arch Linux with KDE Plasma, I'm nuts like that)

The code box using a monospaced font would be nice, if the UI allows that
