I am very much in favor of merit-based hiring and high standards for jobs with life and death implications. Which is why I oppose confirming Pete Hegseth, RFK JR, Tulsi Gabbard, and Kash Patel.

Don’t worry. Trump pardoned the kid.

(No one who supports those pardons gets to be pissed about this, full fucking stop.)

I keep reading this cheesy airport book I picked up in the voice of @michaelhobbes.bsky.social and picking out the excerpts that would definitely make the cut on an episode of If Books Could Kill.

If Daddy Dumpy Pants doesn’t like what you’re up to, you’re likely on the right side of history. Good on you @jimacosta.bsky.social

They want to ban the teaching of the unpleasant facts of American history because people might conclude injustices in the past that contribute to inequalities in the present should be rectified, instead of their belief, which is that some groups of people are inherently superior to others

This makes me want to cry.
In the alternate universe, we're all looking at joyful photos right now of President Harris hard at work at the Resolute desk while her nieces play in the Oval Office.

Kind of sucks that we didn't at least get a Roaring Twenties before what's about to come

It's good that there's a 25% tarriff on imported coffee now. This will incentivize people to purchase American coffee, grown in the New Jersey coffee forests

I thought Dems were clear that P25 was THE plan & Repubs were fooled. I told my mom, a Fox News devotee, what P25 was last summer and she hadn’t heard of it & didn’t really believe me when I told her about it. But, she also said I was overreacting when HRC lost and I said “there goes Roe” so…🤷🏻‍♀️
Guest on Megyn Kelly this week: “So, that's the thing is the funniest joke we ever pulled on the Democrats was convincing them that Project 2025 wasn't real…it's over, we won, yes, we're going to do Project 2025. And the other thing is, it's good.”
Congrats. You played yourself.

How’s that protest vote feeling now, Dems?

We tried so very hard to tell you.
On Air Force One from Las Vegas to Miami, President Trump says Palestinians in Gaza should be relocated.

“I’d like Egypt to take people. I’d like Jordan to take people,” he tells reporters.”We just clean out that whole thing.”

Feeling proud today as my son competed in his first IKF tournament and came home with 2nd in boxing and 1st in kickboxing!

He’s been competing in Taekwondo at a high level for years but this was a different level of intensity for sure.

Bluesky feels like Twitter around that wonderful 2007-2009 timeframe when I had a ton of community and relationships there.
And with how rough things are right now, that’s just a little something that I appreciate a whole lot.

call me crazy but when I was a kid being violently opposed to Nazism was fundamental to being pro-American

Let me make sure I understand. Huge freak-out over art (that you didn’t understand and mistook for something else) at the Olympics opening ceremony. So much pearl clutching.

Not one but TWO N*zi salutes from Musk and now we’re overreacting? I saw what I saw. They’re shouting the quiet parts now.

Weird that we have to say this, but the government doesn’t get to decide what gender a person is.
