Some vaccines like COVID and flu don’t stop completely stop infection.

But they do reduce the risk of getting infected and greatly reduce severe illness risk.

They are still worth getting.

Since they are not 100% effective it’s also wise to add another layer of protection by wearing a mask.

RFK Jr’s CDC posting lies about vaccines and autism on their website isn’t just misinformation, it’s intentionally weaponized eugenicist rhetoric that will kill people.

i—like so many anticovid activists—am multifaceted in a way that a mask seemingly prevents other people from even acknowledging, let alone working to make change nigh necessary for a safer more equitable future, and it breaks my heart.
I hope one day Covid is actually over because I want to be an activist for so many other things but don’t have the spoons when this glaring issue is making all those things worse

when i speak about clean air, masking, & the process of talking with folks about the how n why, i do so from a place of experience: i’ve been helping at mask required events, delivering masks to people’s homes, & other kinds of anti-covid outreach for years now—be the change you wish to see n all 😷✨

Those of us with POTS, ME/CFS or MCAS knew right away that Long Covid would take a devastating toll

We knew the medical system wasn’t equipped to handle the influx of chronic illness patients it was about to get

I hoped the sheer size of the problem would lead to better care. It didn’t happen.
3. "Another popular ambidextrous term is 'functional' […].

The term […] was originally coined by neurologists and psychiatrists as a replacement for 'conversion disorder', itself a euphemism for what used to be known as 'hysteria'."
The Medical System Should Have Been Prepared for Long COVID
COVID long haulers have been breathlessly covered, but there’s nothing surprising about medically unexplained symptoms—or the reaction to them.

If you’re still wearing a mask… thank you.

Thank you for recognizing that disabled people aren’t expendable.

Thank you for showing solidarity with us.

Thank you for caring about your health & the health of those around you.

It’s a powerful act of community care & it’s never too late to start!

as the targeting of trans people by those in power becomes more explicit by the day—from cuts to support to outright threats—it becomes all the more essential to embody what it means to be an ally, what it we mean when we say “we keep us safe,” in our choices every single day. 😷
from what’s already known, from before the cuts, queer people are at higher risk for lots of adverse health outcomes, many if not all exacerbated by the ongoing spread of sars2. we cannot recognize our history of past pandemics—activism, mitigation—while downplaying the present. prevent it. mask up.
