Agree, though I (personally) hate it when the MCs stupidity is the inciting incident (especially if it gets people killed) - I find it difficult to view that person as anything other than the villain.

Good to know, but doesn’t seem universal. I’m a millennial, and don’t see it as passive aggressive.
Will work on not using it anyway, since I’ve NEVER meant it as passive aggressive, and some still might see that way.
