One thing I’m going to look for in any nutrition post before trusting it is whether the creator actually cites credible sources like registered dietitians, peer-reviewed studies, or official guidelines. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I chose it because it’s evidence-based, super easy for parents to understand, and comes from one of the most trusted pediatric organizations in the U.S. It breaks down nutrition needs by age and gives tips families can actually use. www.healthychildren.org/English/heal... @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Tom Carroll’s story showed me that weight change doesn’t require a perfect diet—just consistency and a routine someone can stick to. As a future provider, it reminds me to meet clients where they are and focus on sustainable habits over strict rules. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

I didn’t realize how much factors like stress, income, and environment affect weight. It’s not as simple as willpower. I’m going to be more mindful of how I talk about health — focusing on support, not shame. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC... The article explains that lack of time is a major barrier to healthy eating for college students. Busy schedules make it easier to grab quick, less healthy meals, which I can relate to during busy school weeks. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

One barrier I relate to is limited time for meal preparation. Between classes, studying, and commuting, I often end up grabbing quick options like sandwiches or protein bars instead of cooking balanced meals. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I often struggle to eat healthy because I don’t have time to cook after long days of work and classes. I usually grab something quick from a gas station or drive-thru instead of making a meal at home—it’s faster, even though I know it’s not the healthiest choice.

I looked into the keto diet, it promises quick results, but it mainly works because you’re cutting carbs. What surprised me most is how hard it is to maintain long term. Why do so many fad diets focus on restriction instead of balance?

I usually grab a ham sandwich on white bread with chips. To make it more nutrient-dense, I switched to whole-grain bread, added spinach and tomato, and swapped the chips for a side of fruit. Now it has more fiber, vitamins, and natural sweetness

My 24-hour recall was fairly accurate, though I may have missed small condiments. It was easy to remember the main meals but harder with snacks. Writing it out made me notice how many chips I ate compared to fruits/veggies. Seeing it written I saw I rely more on quick, processed foods than I thought

One fun fact I learned about carbohydrates is that they’re the body’s primary energy source. Carbs break down into glucose, which fuels both physical activity and brain function—your brain uses about 50% of the glucose you consume!

Heyyy
I'm a second year Pre PA student, and i'm taking this class because im living on my own it's important to know what makes a healthy meal and so thats what I want to find out from this class. One word that I would associate with healthy eating is "organic". (and tacos are my favorite)
