Just in time for San Marcos Zine Fest this weekend, here's my newest zine: New Faith!

A zine with imagery of a man's and woman's silhouettes praying in front of an injection syringe, all of these colored like the trans pride flag. The syringe is positioned like a cross. The title of the zine is "NEW FAITH" Text: When I was younger, I was so confused because my feelings made no sense to me I had no words to describe wanting to be a woman that didn’t clash with what I knew Being transsexual meant something very specific, and I’d been told by society that I didn’t qualify So when I began to fully understand that I was trans, I felt like I was too late I was afraid HRT would turn me into something hideous and unlovable Something not quite a woman, but no longer a man And that scared me Text: I didn’t have trans friends my own age to talk to, they were all younger or had started their transitions in their teens I had no frame of reference for what to expect, and I was too scared to look it up But I did it anyway I took the plunge I made a choice that felt like walking a tightrope through the midnight fog I had lived my life too afraid to even get a tattoo Because changing my body permanently was too scary Yet still I took the pill I plunge the needle into my thigh Feel the estrogen course through me Warming me Making me more whole Text: Some say you can’t be born transgender As if it is a sickness contracted by the weak willed But it is transformation, metamorphosis And isn’t metamorphosis itself a form of birth? Of course you can’t be born reborn It’s a journey Aren’t Christians all about rebirth? So wouldn't transition be an innately divine path?
