We're stoked to introduce the 'No Gen AI' seal for indie games!

Indie devs can use it on their game's store page to assure potential players that their game was made without the use of Generative AI.

You can grab it from the Polygon Treehouse website:-

Reflecting upon a time when we had chunky clear plastic single-use gadgets that sparked joy instead of minimalist slim supercomputers that destroy civilizations

Sometimes you create because you have an idea, a message, a purpose, some wellspring of creativity that, if left contained, will cause you to combust.

And sometimes you just want to see pretty colorful pixels move across the screen.

I'm sad to admit that I've had to mute a few accounts on here, at least temporarily, because I have no desire to do a realtime binge of our descent into fascist hell.

I do want to stay informed, but this is a marathon, and I know from experience that it's very easy to hit despair burnout quickly.

I haven't had much of a presence here, and I'd like to ramp things up, but I'm really unsure which rabbit to chase. What I'm supposed to talk about (creative stuff)? Where my brain is (impending collapse of society)? Or what I want to talk about (video games and movies!!!!!!)?

remember: spanish-speaking people being forced to attend church online for fear of deportation is freedom, as opposed to english-speaking people being forced to attend church online for fear of getting covid and dying, which is persecution.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.

They run them bc people react to them the most.

If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.

It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

NBC: Mississippi Free Press "Bluesky is getting 20 times the engagement or more than Twitter,” Pittman said. “Seeing a social media platform that doesn’t throttle links really makes it clear how badly we were being limited.”

I am so grateful for T-Pain’s appearance in the Macy’s Parade, so I can finally answer “yes” when my kids ask me “do you know who that is?”

The last couple of weeks, I’ve discovered just how large a role hope has always played in my ability to be creative.

So I either need to find some hope, or learn to channel a different emotion, fast.

I love the energy around this app at the moment, but there’s also the unshakable realization that I’d rather move to the woods and become a Lost Boy than build *yet another* “online presence” at this point in time.

But I’ll stick around just because I like reading all of your collective thoughts.

She’s a rescue, and was named Josie, so we’re just assuming her namesake. No idea if that’s where it came from. Nor have I seen it!
