It doesnt mean "the game is bad" just its not as much of a WOW factor just showing someone doing combos on an enemy not reacting at all. I can just hop on any fighting game and do that in training mode

For people capturing that 'retro' feel I think this is a place that could easily be overlooked

Games should be the length they need to be to deliver the experience that brought on their creation

And nowhere did I say "games need to be shorter" it's just an aspect of the medium

The TGA GotY nominees for example altogether is about 180 hours just to clear the story based off HLTB estimates. If you gamed as a full time job thats over a month of work and thats not even covering *all* the notable releases of the year or really digging in and exploring those games

I watched my GOAT Duncan go out with a blowout loss to OKC and I still hate that team to this day because of that. Is that him 'giving up' or is it just time to call it after facing an athletic young team like that in year 20?

Also, the humility and self-reflection that comes with being able to size yourself up and realize you just dont have it is a big part of growing up IMO. I'll save the rest for the writing but there are battles in life you cant win sometimes
