The distressing realization is that nothing is ever enough for these people. Any agreement they make they will dump the moment the opportunity presents itself. Everything is up for negotiation and the only reasonable outcome is where they get everything they want with no concessions.

The wild thing here is that the heavy work Trudeau and Notley did in creating the acceptance for TMX was packaging it with a carbon tax and tanker ban. Those latter things have now all washed away as Alberta conservatives continued to re-litigate the issue despite being gifted their pipeline.

Also the obvious answer to the challenge posed in the article is to narrow or close superfluous roads and plant trees on them.

Oh wait sorry we're so car brained this is impossible sorry sorry I should have known not to suggest it.

I recall when laneway homes were being discussed and I was giving the feedback “yea but I want to buy a home. Why don’t we subdivide the lot and sell me a bigger laneway home?”

Robertson had majority councils for 9 years and struggled to make impactful structural reforms in Vancouver housing. That’s a disturbing record for someone who we will be expecting to make big, impactful moves during a crisis.

The collapse of the games industry is a brutal contribution to the issue here. We’ve had two years straight of the worst layoffs of all time.

We could all use a few more fitness opportunities that regular stairs provide.

Great thread. I own two genuine cowichans and they are absolutely incredible, perfect outerwear for Pacific Northwest conditions.

Genuinely magical garments that are warm, windbreaking, and protect against rain, but are also somehow also cool and comfortable in warm spring conditions.
