Sprint seems to have forgiven us for yesterday, although he is currently holding A's shoes hostage by lying on them & demanding fusses. Today it is not missing ot down which is a vast improvement & also we don't have a time limit to get home.

Saw this sign at Heathrow on Weds night; unclear why you can only catch a connecting flight if you have antlers?
A vertical sign with images and text, and arrows pointing downwards. The top shows a plane landing, the a red arrow and "you are here", then "flight connections" next to a person carrying a suitcase with planes landing & taking off behind him. The position makes it look like they are antlers on his head. Finally below that is a person with a cap looking in a suitcase ("security").

Reading this on a day when I wonder if one is making the other worse sure is something. (I don't know what because all emotions are anxiety-flavoured & it's not like I'm always great at identifying them anyway.)

But also, you should still do something! You shouldn't have to put up with either!

On my way home now. It's been a great qep (meeting); we played games, discussed a lot of different things & laughed a lot. I hope I can go next year.

Stopped at Schipol airport for lunch. Also I added stickers to my travel mug recently. (I removed Psyduck "fuck migraines" because ~professionalism~.)

Finished my mittens/wristwarmers! I think i left it more than 18 months between finishing #1 & starting #2, which I do not recommend. Still, done now, and colourful & squishy & warm.
A white hand (mine) in a green, purple and yellow ribbed wrist-warmer. My hand is turned with palm towards the camera to show the thumb hole. The top of the wrist-warmer is folded over itself and reaches to where the fingers join the palm. The background is a black tablecloth with equations on it in white. The same hand in the same wrist-warmer, palm down and away from the camera. The wrist-warmer is unrolled and goes almost to the end of my little finger.

Mutuals/friends of: I have a pair of silver DMs, size 7, going for free. I've concluded sadly that they just aren't the right shape for my feet. Barely worn (& never outside).

(I've just bought a new pair of boots which are way less cool - though still cool! - but are, crucially, very comfortable.)

This is what I've resorted to, to get Sprint to take his flea medication. Doggy Ferraro Rocher: fluralaner wrapped in pill pockets rolled in freeze dried chicken (aka "doggy crack").

Thank goodness it's only every three months.

On holiday. Today 2 separate pairs of off-lead dogs ran right up to Sprint which is *deeply* unhelpful.

On the plus side, though he freaked out badly at the 2nd pair, we went for a lovely walk later where there were *loads* of dogs & he did really well.

He did not like the grumpy, hissing cygnet.

(I'm not happy with various bits of the finishing off and using black thread on yellow fabric was a mistake, BUT. It's done & I'm happy *enough* with the result.)

Replacing the spare muzzle straps (something leaked in the boot & the old ones went mouldy) but I ran out of the first two colours of scraps of material before quite finishing.

(Should I have planned ahead better? Yes, yes I should.)

Which third fabric works best? Star Trek blue or nerd grey?
A black plastic muzzle with fabric straps in red watermelon flesh (with black seeds) and yellow. There is a loosely placed final strap in grey, with 0s and 1s and associated nerdery. The same black muzzle as previously, with the same red and yellow straps but this time the last strap is in blue with Star Trek pattern just visible.

We paid someone to clear weeds a couple of weeks ago. They absolutely fucked over all the plants we had so proudly not yet killed. (And then very transparently tried to distract from this by complimenting my hair. 😡)

On the plus side, this heuchera is making a valiant attempt to come back to life.
Tiny dark red leaves coming from dry ground and browned grass, next to Sprint's bright orange "Chuck it" ball, for scale. (The ball is about the same size as a tennis ball.)
