Wow, major breakthrough in the development of broadly neutralizing bispecific antibody therapeutics against SARS-CoV-2, led by @stanford-chemh.bsky.social institute scholar @cobarnes27.bsky.social 😃

Bispecific antibodies targeting the N-terminal and receptor binding domains potently neutralize SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern
Bispecific antibodies incorporating a cross-reactive NTD-specific antibody are resilient to SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern.

WOW!!! Beautiful new Nature paper from Burkart Lab UCSD reveals how non-ribosomal peptide natural product synthetases work together.

They use tetrazine click chemistry to capture these huge protein complexes mid-reaction. 3 different snapshots show different states.

I was taught in grad school that scientists should have 3 versions of talks about their work ready: a 30 second “elevator pitch,” a 12 minute conference length talk, and a 40 minute seminar length talk.

I think we should also have a short version aimed at non-scientists.

Hey #ChemSky! I teach a primary-literature-based #ChemicalBiology course, and I'd like suggestions for updating the readings. Target audience is 1st-year PhDs and senior undergrads on their way to PhD. Each week I'll add another unit to the thread for your suggestions. Thanks for your help!!
