I just want to share how France reacted to the death of a far right leader. And they're not even claiming to be the country of freedom of speech. And yes, of course some people called it tasteless, but the government didn't respond with a systemic, violent repression of free speech.

This guy does this every day for 20 min or so and I feel like he should be leading guided meditation sessions for all of us in the U.S. right now.

A Twitter friend tweeted last year about ticks at the beach leaving the body of a dead cormorant in California.
I was literally on a plane at that time but had to ask her to get them for us.
Months later, I can't wait to share our short communication about the tick-borne pathogens we found.

Using ivermectin, @carloschaccour.bsky.social and colleagues reduced the incidence of malaria by 26% on top of the control already provided by high use of bed nets.
Wanna hear more about it? Join our seminar with Carlos today at 10 AM CST by registering here: www.zoomgov.com/meeting/regi...

Very excited to host my colleague @carloschaccour.bsky.social for a special seminar next Friday at 10 AM CST!
Carlos and his team recently published in the NEJM the results of their BOHEMIA clinical trial, which aimed to assess the use of ivermectin as a control method for malaria and other NTDs.

Exciting news:
I'm so glad (and still a bit in disbelief) to announce that I will soon be serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Medical and Veterinary Entomology journal of the Royal Entomological Society 🥹 I've been an associate editor at MVE for a while and it's been an amazing experience.

That's why I love them.
People in Academia often like dismissing the importance of being a nice person. People don't need to be loving teletubbies but, being morally good, being able to show kindness, and being around others who do the same clearly makes the whole thing a very different experience.
