When you’re voting, you have to think about everyone. Because YOU could become “everyone”. You can be unemployed, you may suffer a miscarriage, get r*ped, FLY on airplane, need a new kidney, like you never know what may affect you.
Exactly. People took their selfishness to the voting booth (or not) and now the lives of so many people are about to be upended. It may be your vote, but you’re not voting for yourself. You’re voting for the country at large, and too many people were too selfish and short sighted to get that.
I love that last sentence. We gotta stop thinking about “EYE want prayer in school”, “EYE don’t believe in abortion”, “me me me”. I’m single with no kids, work in the private sector, and could’ve voted against the DOE and other programs but I didn’t. Because MY lifestyle isn’t the entire country.
