its really upsetting seeing the way ai has infiltrated the cover industry. more and more books are being bound in talentless amalgamations of various illustration styles belonging to artists I personally know (who are struggling to pay bills, no less.) it's not just unknowns on goodreads, either.
In this case, each 300+ book is from a ‘series’ that has been locked on a 1 per month release schedule from an author with zero online presence. There is no cover artist credited. People are commenting how stilted characters act, but still dole out 3-4 stars in their ratings. It’s depressing stuff.
