I'm still thinking about the Fuck Plane. TVTropes calls plane sex Mile-High Club, which is fair but I would argue that unwise sex on a private plane is frequent and specific enough in media to be its own thing. And it can't be mile high club if they're 2000' up on short final. It just can't 😬

Please, for the love of god, can we talk about this more. I see it coming and I am terrified. I can hold out just a little longer in my apron and kitchen gloves. I can do my best to help my friends get jobs like mine.

But not everyone can.

International political uncertainty, threats (and actions) towards minority populations, unhinged actions on the part of those in power - all of that is really bad. But I think the biggest threat to the American people under this adminstration is going to be joblessness and homelessness.

People like my parents. Older, seasoned professionals of 40+ years who are struggling to find jobs after no-fault layoffs, or losing clients due to lack of ability to pay.

I don't want to scream doom, because that doesn't help anything. But it genuinely feels like nobody is seeing this.

Think about all the people who don't have the ridiculously stupid connection that I did. Think about all the people whose partners don't have jobs (shoutout to my wife for making very little but Enough Money right now 🙌), or who don't have partners at all.

So now think about all of the thousands of people who are looking for work right now. Many of them, many more than usual, are white-collar professionals desperately seeking jobs in their field, where previously they may have had federal careers that they expected to last until retirement.
