We’re finishing our fieldwork season in Ubajara National Park 🇧🇷, where we collected🩸and other samples from the wild capuchin monkeys we study here.
Now we have a lot of samples to analyse from genetics to health indicators.

This weekend, we had our first CapCult Project meeting at Ubajara National Park. We brought the team from Serra da Capivara to learn about the environment and the monkeys and share information with the local research team.

Long-term data is critical for understanding how ecosystems work and how they might look in the future. But it's getting harder and harder to do due to funding limitations. We need to prioritise this sort of research and to stop cutting funding for it.

Our first video here is the cougar recorded by camera-trap resting on one of the capuchin monkeys nut-cracking sites at Ubajara Park 🇧🇷. This is part of our member Tati Valença PhD project to measure predation pressure on the monkeys’ behavior.
