so, now that you know how to completely disassemble these, and that the work soooo much better when done so, are you gonna do the same thing again to every machine, including ones you already deemed functional?

externals are a bad thing, even SSDs for other reasons.
while not an expert , I have built four of my last 7 Pcs, 3 I just got refurbished machines off Newegg
and I got a STACK of 2.5" drives, too small to be useful. not worth using for USB externals. too risky (and I got thumb drives bigger)

double check them to make sure they are weight rated.
was going thru cheap chairs because they are only rated for 200#, and I was 250
got one rated for 400# and it lasted a while, but poor welds. welded the frame back up
gave up and got a heavy duty secret labs chair last fall. looks promising
