I love when google AI summary doesn’t recognise the specific technical terms I am using so it condescendingly explains that’s not actually how that’s spelled. Like yes, I know. Whoever named this is a wanker.

It would be really cool if working in the tech industry involved communicating and collaborating with other people who are enthusiastic about science and technology. Instead of the goulash management goblins the industry is actually constructed from.

Is GitHub Copilot charging me for every stupid suggestion the AI comes up with? Or just the ones I accept?
I want to give GHC some credit for not being awfully constructed but it’s still really stupid and enthusiastic with its stupidity.

I think windows could fix every bug in their OS and clean up the 3+ generations of lazy half implemented crap. And I still wouldn’t use windows again *because* Microsoft allowed their flagship OS to exist like that and charged money for it. For years.

I still think TypeScript is just JavaScript if it was full of itself. But I also can’t escape that I am really enjoying writing it.

Besides being incredibly vindicated by the whole “programmers are actually 20% slower with AI” thing. I am also wondering what portion of that is just the programmer yelling at the AIs awful solution or completely wrong syntax.

Windows 10 doesn’t support window tiling out of the box. What are you talking about? I know I deserve this for installing gnome but why is it so hard to find tiling extensions?

I just remembered that I lived to see halo running on Linux like that would have been an insane hack project 10 years ago and absolutely blown my mind. Now it’s basically out the box.

Hilariously, I can now confirm that the affinity colour picker tool is broken exactly the same way if you run it under wine. On the plus side I have affinity working now ✨

I think what I really need from season two of pluribus is for the hive to be given more space and time to talk for itself about itself. I thought it was a funny flourish that the hive is very obviously still exploring itself, open and more than willing to talk.

The year starts with a 2 and ends with a 6. I am installing Linux because Microsoft did something unprofessional and I am still using the exact same machine. if you don’t count every component having been replaced multiple times.

Brain organoids need to be illegal like now, there is no legitimate use case for them that isn’t already being done better by a mechanical computer and the scope for harm is unbelievable.
It was an interesting proof of concept but should never have gone further than that.
