❌ Police detected 38 speeding offences, including a driver 42km/h over the posted speed limit on Illawarra Road at Longford (122km/h in 80km/h zone) and a separate driver travelling 34km/h over the limit (144km/h in 110km/h zone) on the Midland Highway at Powranna.

As police attempted to intercept the vehicle, they observed the driver throw a can from the driver’s side window across the road.

The vehicle was intercepted a short time later, and the man returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.058.

The two men, aged 28 and 38, remain in custody while a third man questioned in relation to the incident last Friday morning (August 15) has been bailed to reappear in court in late November.

❌ A 48-year-old man from New Norfolk was caught driving a vehicle that had been unregistered for four years.
His licence was subjected to a suspension, and he will be summoned to appear in court at a later date.

❌ A 19-year-old L-plater from the Huon Valley, who had previously been disqualified due to drug driving offences, returned a positive roadside drug test and was found in possession of drugs.
He was arrested and will face court proceedings.
