Police have charged a 31-year-old Rokeby man with aggravated assault after a shooting incident at Rokeby last Saturday in which a man received injuries to his arm.

As police attempted to intercept the vehicle, they observed the driver throw a can from the driver’s side window across the road.

The vehicle was intercepted a short time later, and the man returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.058.

Every unsecured or illegally held firearm represents a potential threat to community safety.

A 40-year-old man from Margate has been charged with arson, attempted arson, destroy property and drug offences.

It’s alleged he attempted to set fire to a property in Kingston on two occasions.

No one was injured in the incidents.

Four teenage boys have been charged over a disturbance and serious assault in Glenorchy on Tuesday in which a 33-year-old man sustained injuries.

Police responded quickly and located the offenders.

They'd like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

Police have charged two men over a firearms incident on August 2, in which shots were allegedly fired at two separate homes in Gagebrook and Herdsmans Cove.

The men from southern Tasmania, have been detained in custody and are scheduled to appear in court later today.

A Tasmania Police helicopter crew will patrol the state’s northern coastline between George Town and Turners Beach this morning as the search continues for a twin-seater light plane, reported missing late Saturday afternoon.

Police are investigating a deliberately lit fire that destroyed a vacant house at Clarendon Vale overnight.

Tasmania Fire Service extinguished the fire, and Fire Investigators have determined the fire was deliberately lit.

Search efforts for a missing light plane, with two people and a dog on board, resumed today from 8am.

AMSA's Challenger aircraft, the police helicopter and two other fixed-wing aircraft are searching an area in Bass Strait and northern Tasmania.

🎓 We've welcomed 30 new constables into our ranks, with Recruit Course 1/2025 officially graduating from the police academy today.
