Can you help us ID this species of #insect? It was filmed at TLC's The Big Punchbowl Reserve, crawling along in casuarina debris. Tip: we think it might be a #moth in the family #Psychidae.

Two of our most recent members to join the #LandforWildlife Program are Kristan Laemmle-Ruff & Summer Phillips. They are building their #dreamhouse on a block of land on the #TasmanPeninsula that they purchased through the TLC's Revolving Fund.

#Artist Melissa Smith was inspired by our Silver Plains Reserve to create works for her upcoming #exhibition, 'On Silver Plains.' We're proud to support her work, which will be on display at Australian Galleries Melb from Sept 23 - Oct 11.

This #spring, the TLC staff enjoyed an all-staff day at The Quoin, a property owned & managed by Wedgetail, whose CEO & Founder is our Board Member, Lisa Miller. Wedgetail is restoring The Quoin's 5,000 ha's & working to share what they've learned with other private landowners.

Our TLC team attended a traditional #fire workshop at Fairylands on #BrunyIsland, learning from property owner Paul, #ecologist Matt, & indigenous fire practitioner Jason. A huge thank you to Jason from Patrula Nayri (Fire good) Traditional Fire Workshops for sharing his wisdom.

Recently, our #LandforWildlife Coordinator Phil Wise visited a joint working bee between the Glenorchy City Council and City of Hobart Council Bushcare groups, who were working on the removal of #environmental #weeds in a section of #bush on the #urbanfringe.

Our latest #LandforWildlife member, Chris Calverley from Tayene, has sent through these fabulous pictures of #easternquolls who have made a home under his deck. They manage to get through a small hole, with one picture of a larger male gnawing the decking to make the hole big enough for him.

We’re working alongside researchers from the University of Tasmania, Federation University Australia and the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development to monitor how the landscape responds, including changes to carbon cycles, vegetation, and wildlife populations.

Meet Boris, our most recent landowner to join #LandforWildlife with his partner, Chrystine. Many Tasmanians would be familiar with their gem & fossil shop in the Lune River area. They have remnant #stringybark forest, regen blackwood forest & saline sedge/rush land on the shores of the Lune River.

Our #science team recently visited Sloping Main Reserve & is pleased to report that the recent #hightide enabled the 1st free exchange of water btw the #saltmarsh & the #ocean since the removal of the weir & levee. This is an exciting milestone and an encouraging sign of recovery!

Our latest #LandforWildlife event was held at the Fern Tree Community Hall in May. It was a great chance to focus in on a few of the #nocturnal #wildlife species that many of us share our homes with & tips for looking after them. TY Dr Lisa Cawthen & Bec Johnson who were our guest speakers.

TLC supporters gathered at #SlopingMain Reserve in May to learn about the recent #restoration work completed there. Attendees saw & heard first-hand the #science behind the restoration work & techniques used to restore the area's original topography to start the #landscape on a path to #recovery.

A couple of weeks ago, with support from the City of Hobart, TLC carried out a successful #ecological burn at our Tinderbox Hills Reserve. This carefully planned burn is part of our ongoing efforts to #protect the #ecological values of the area, especially the #bluegum and #whitegum forests.

In May we partnered with NRM Nth to run a workshop about #nativegrasslands at the property of #LandforWildlife members, Mary and Ron Marsh. The Marsh's have been fostering the Themeda #grassland, a nationally #threatenedvegetation community, on their property in nth #Tasmania.
