📢 Just published “Caregiver nutrition and nurturing care: a scoping review”

Does caregiver (maternal) nutrition influence responsive caregiving and engagement in early learning opportunities?

Short answer: yes, it likely does.

Every $1 spent on early childhood nutrition generates a $23 return.

By contrast, where there is malnutrition of any form, disease follows close behind:
-undernutrition is an underlying factor in almost half of deaths in children <5
-over 1 billion adults are living with obesity & diet-related NCDs

Great new article from Our World in Data on anemia trends and what we can do to move them in in a more positive direction.
"While the stagnation at the global level is worrying, these positive developments show that it is a tractable problem that we can tackle with the right interventions."
Anemia is a large problem, but one that the world has made very little progress on, in the last few decades.

We know that it's possible to tackle it, though, because some countries *have* seen notable reductions in rates of anemia.
