Infantino on Trump: He says what he thinks, he says what many people think as well but maybe don’t dare to say and maybe that’s why he’s so successful”

More: “I think we should all support what he’s doing because I think he’s doing pretty good.”

What can you give your mate who’s desperately upset on missing out on the Nobel Peace Prize?

Apparent benefits to Qatar and Saudi Arabia come a year after the two countries successfully proposed to remove term limits for the Asian football confederation’s leaders, including its president Sheikh Salman. Only Australia abstained from vote. UEFA had similar outcome around same time.

The good news is Gianni Infantino and FIFA will come riding to the rescue — This is the venue for 2026 World Cup draw on Dec 5. Comes after FIFA also took up office space in Trump Tower.

That is a particular choice of photo for this announcement.

(Press release itself doesn’t mention Saudi.)

This really is the pits. This is not a design that — whatever you think of them — Saudi Arabia, the organisers of the 2034 World Cup have anything to do with. Has popped up randomly on social, caught fire and now pushed for attention by the Mail. Pathetic business.

The data doesn’t tell you what your eyes can. Liverpool as vulnerable and brittle as they have been all season.

Speculating on the “why” here is 🤢

Galatasaray tonight. Image posted on club’s social media. Event governed by UEFA, like Villa’s game v Maccabi. Villa fans warned against “political” messaging by club with threat of stadium ban. PSG fans, others and UEFA themselves (obliquely below) have posted messages too.

Also interesting context to Maccabi fans specifically in Israeli media. There has been a rise of racism in stadiums there since start of the war in Gaza and the highest number of incidents recorded have been at Maccabi games according to reports there. Safety certificates based on many factors.

Timely release from Eintracht. They say UEFA has rejected request to move Napoli game to neutral venue after away fans were banned. The release also says away fans have been prevented from attending 15 Uefa club games since Eintracht fans were first prevented from a Napoli game in 2023.

Timely press release just dropped from Eintracht. They said Uefa has turned down request to move Napoli away game to a neutral venue after its fans were barred on security grounds from attending game there. They also say away fans have been barred 15 times in uefa comps since 2023 ban from Naples

FIFA effectively agreeing the Donald Trump and remove cities from World Cup hosting with this statement. He suggested yesterday Gianni would agree with whatever he wanted.

The UAE - a country where it’s notoriously hard to get citizenship— have really worked the global transfer market to come up with their “national” team. This is the lineup for massive game v Qatar. A World Cup place at stake. Qatar on the other hand somehow given home advantage for qualifying comp.
October 14, 2025 at 6:20 PM
Qatar though had pride of place in the team photo. Sheikh Tamim alongside Trump.
