Bluesky's nirvana was right before the big influx of people last week. That size of the pool was perfect imo.
People are disinsentivised to post abhorrent content when in smaller group.

maybe BSky should implement paying pennies to read news articles instead of all these subscriptions (similar to Twitter's plan) using a credit balance or similar.
in addition to donations this may be sustainable.

I think relying on donations or selling vanity items like skins, profile pics, etc is the way.

Maybe after seeing the toxicity of Twitter, it becomes harder to imagine that a large group of people can be kind and decent to each other.
