Community moderation will be effective if done on a small number of people, think subreddits.
Bluesky's nirvana was right before the big influx of people last week. That size of the pool was perfect imo.
People are disinsentivised to post abhorrent content when in smaller group.

To help keep Bluesky free and ad-free,
maybe BSky should implement paying pennies to read news articles instead of all these subscriptions (similar to Twitter's plan) using a credit balance or similar.

I don't know what it is, but the ethos of this place feels different.
Maybe after seeing the toxicity of Twitter, it becomes harder to imagine that a large group of people can be kind and decent to each other.
