Really?
I thought the Scottish Government still helped fund science centres.

Wouldn't the effect on inflation have been the same regardless of how the Government raised the money - from the IMF, or the BoE?
August 24, 2025 at 5:49 PM
Genuine question. Why did the UK have to ask the IMF for a bailout in 1976, when sterling was already a fiat currency?

The solution seems to be to end the use of single sex spaces and replace them with single gender spaces.

So what are the practical implications for my transgender friends?

Energy is already cheaper for some. In fact, it's cheaper for those consuming in areas with high carbon intensity electricity, and higher for those consuming zero carbon intensity electricity.

The companies building the windfarms are reaping large profits to generate green electricity in an area that is already saturated with green electricity.

How else do you force companies to build renewable energy generation in the areas it is most needed?

Shouldn't those of us living close to hundreds of wind turbines get cheaper electricity? Otherwise how do you get communities to accept them being built nearby?

As it is, all we see is more windfarms being built in areas that are already saturated with 100% renewable.

I'd rather just keep the gas supply available, but only if I can get a zero standing charge tariff for gas alongside a normal standing charge tariff for electric.
Why would I disconnect a useful backup supply? Seems a waste of money paying to get the gas cut off which I can use for cooking, etc.
February 24, 2025 at 10:38 AM
QUESTION about the proposed zero standing charge tariffs. Will I be able to have a zero standing charge tariff for GAS alongside a normal standing charge tariff for ELECTRIC?

Reason: So I don't have to have my gas supply removed when I install a heat pump to replace my gas boiler.

The persons job and what they're protesting about should be irrelevant in a court case.

The cap would only help wealthy families, by protecting inheritances over £85k.

Fund free social care from an increase to inheritance tax.

Understood. Lots of digs in Scotland last year, and I do think it would be interesting to feature some other aspects of UK history, such as:
Picts culture
Highland clearances
Viking rule in the far north
Etc.

Great series, watched all 6 episodes, but I have a genuine question. With Scotland representing 1/3rd of the land mass, why is so little time devoted to Scottish Archaeology?

With 6 episodes, I'd expect 2 episodes devoted to Scottish Archaeology. So much unique archaeology to explore.
