Why are all packages being nonsensically routed through Houston? This is new, and dumb. This book traveled about 700 miles in order to go about three. 😱

Ah see so yesterday I was too worried about the general implosion of my entire field and the fact that half my grad students might be fired in 10 days to notice this spicy meatball
NEW: Yesterday, the Department of Transportation issued a memo that says DOT and DOT-supported programs should "give preference to communities with marriage and birth rates higher than the national average." www.transportation.gov/sites/dot.go...

This is a big deal, y'all. Federal health websites are being stripped of content or removed in their entirety. Stick with this thread for a look at what's disappeared so far! 1/x

Very weird day of scrambling to preserve local copies of public reports and datasets. Yesterday was 1984 day, today is Fahrenheit 451 day I guess

I'm not shocked by much of what this fucknut gets up to but I am by this. Forced literal warehousing of people surrounded by armed guards in a place with zero access to anything for something like $60k per person for 2 months. At least the Squid Game folks got a chance to opt out...

The woman who runs the injection room in Ochsner obgyn is Yule joy incarnate, which, yes, is very weird. PSA for elder millennials who were always told they were "too old" for an HPV vaccine: you're not anymore! Go get (or finish in my case) yours before your government outlaws them.

Denver airport lactation room report: clean! Ample counter space! Comfortable bench seating...12 feet away from the only power outlet. Airports, please seek counsel from end users when designing specialized spaces.

Testing out my first ever airport "mother's room." Some notes, for Men Who Design Such Things:

This no-name 9th ward chicken has been sitting in my fruitless, stunted, 17-year-old lemon tree on exactly one egg for well over a month now, long enough that the egg surely will not hatch, and all the lemon tree leaves shriveled up and fell off. Anyway, this is probably a metaphor for something.
