Having to use 5G for internet over the past week has been a right pain. Hopefully the fibre connection gets fixed today, it appears EE didn't switch the account from copper to fibre. The Openreach engineer was less than impressed "It was raised as a copper fault".

‘Real friendships felt mythical to me’: On autism, reading and growing up
‘Real friendships felt mythical to me’: On autism, reading and growing up
Some people liken autistic girls to an iceberg. Personally, I prefer the analogy of a rotten log: overturn any one of us and there’ll be…

Sometimes I'm in awe of just how old Oxford is and all the people who were born here, lived here and died over centuries. Puts life into perspective somewhat. Walking around the really old buildings makes me wonder about all those who came before, and all those yet to come.

I don't have an issue with an ID card to prove who you are, opening a bank account etc but to centre it around the right to work is nakedly trying to court voters who'll not be voting for the Labour party at the next election. Also calling it a Brit Card is naff. Just call it an ID card.

"While scientists rarely proclaim absolutes, autism researchers say that they are as sure as they can be that there’s no one cause of the condition. “It’s never going to be true,” says Tager-Flusberg; decades of data reveal that a complex (and highly variable) origin is the only logical conclusion."
Autism Has No Single Cause. Here’s How We Know
Scientists will not find a simple answer to how autism arises, despite Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s promise to announce its causes sometime this month. Here’s what makes the condition so staggeringly comp...

The Oxfordshire ADHD service is closed to all referrals so I’m having to wait and see if the Adult Mental Health team will be able to provide ADHD meds. I think it’ll be a no, but the current government seem to not want to spend money on improving services in general for autistic and ADHD peeps.

Busy week. Trip to the seaside, dental impressions taken using gas and air. Oh and on Monday I got diagnosed with ADHD.

I have been quiet as the world has been just a bit too much of late. My poor brain can't process it. I quit the Labour party over the "Welfare Reforms". I just can't support a party leadership that believes behavioural change through welfare cuts will get disabled people into jobs will work.

If I had to sum up Starmer and co? All about cuts, not the consequences. They are trying to appeal to a group of voters who will never vote for Labour and they are turning away core Labour voters at the same time. I think it's time the Unions looked at funding other parties. Labour is a lost cause.

What Moore says next in the interview is more important, to me. Nobody is coming to save us, we have to do it ourselves, in community with each other.

🧵 The annual AGCAS report on disabled graduates finds, again, that autistic people face the worst employment outcomes.

By rate and by quality, by every metric featured, across all ethnicities and genders.

These are the people being called "overdiagnosed".

Making the most of the fine weather yesterday. The sailing club near Binsey out on the Thames. It was fairly windy, only had my 20mm lens on me. Next time it’ll be the 70-200mm lens.

Passport interview in a bit. Decided to get one for ID purposes, given everywhere wants a passport or driver's license these days. I decided against learning to drive as a teenager as I don't have the skills for it.
